When decorating a nursery for a boy, selecting an outer space or astronomy theme will have a charming appeal. It will also be ideal for introducing your newborn to strange, new worlds. Because outer space and other closely related topics such as rockets, stars, the planets and the night sky are popular theme choices for decorating kids’ rooms including nurseries, you will be able to find a variety of decorative and accessory items like wallpaper and border patterns, stencils, murals, lamps and rugs. Encourage your baby boy to be an explorer or an astronaut
Since most little astronauts are on the cutting edge of technology, modern style or contemporary style with extremely crisp lines will be a good choice for baby furniture in an outer space themed room. The Nurseryworks Lawson-Fenning Aerial 3-in-1 White Baby Crib would be an excellent choice for several reasons. Not only does it have a modern/contemporary design, the overall look of the crib, including the pattern of the end panels, can be customized.

And nothing looks more space-age than the matching dresser and change table. Both the Nurseryworks Lawson-Fenning Three Wide Baby Dresser and the Nurseryworks Lawson-Fenning Two Wide Baby Changing Table can also be customized to your specific requirements.

Pick a crib bedding set to complement the fabulous colors of the colors of the outer space theme depicted in the Olive Kids Out of This World Drapes and Valance.

Tie in the window treatment to the floor with the Fun Rugs Fun Time Shape High Pile Moon & Stars Rug. The colors are perfect.

Now for the out-of-this-world finishing touch. The ELK Lighting Novelty Lightshow Pendant will send baby boy off to sleepy land in style.

He’s ready to come home from the hospital and start his brand new adventure called life. But before that day arrives, now is the time to design a nursery for your expected baby boy that will give him a sense of adventure and exploring the unknown, even if he doesn’t know it yet. Choosing Noah’s ark as a nursery theme allows you the freedom to draw on a number of other popular nursery themes such as the ocean, boats and animals.

Of course, we must indulge in blue, not just because it’s a nursery for a boy, but also because it is the color of the sea. These four Benjamin Moore shades will make great color choices for the walls, whether you use them by themselves or add an animals two-by-two border, ark or animal stencils or ark-themed wall art. You can also use one or more of these colors and their complementary shades to “wash” one wall with ocean waves.

In addition to a theme, choosing a particular furniture style will also give the nursery you are planning a finished look. Contemporary style, inspired by current fashion trends is ideal for a boy’s nursery because lines are simple, uncluttered and soothing. Decoration, which can be considered “girlie”, is minimal. The Tulip Piccolo Zen Crib has a distinctively contemporary look. With its Asian influences and two-tone finish, this crib also displays a unique design that is tranquil and calming.

Definitely in keeping with our contemporary interior design, the Tulip Piccolo Combo Dresser With Changing Pad in Java and French White reverses the color scheme of the crib. Especially if you are converting a smaller sized bedroom into a nursery, combining the change table and dresser is a space-saver.

The Caden Lane Classic Blue Noah Baby Crib Bedding Set is ideal for an ark themed nursery. It includes the blues of the ocean and the brown of wood of the boat. The mix of stripes, polka dots and solid colors will add texture to the room’s overall design.

Have fun adding those special finishing touches. How about the Fun Rugs California Kids High Pile Noah’s Friends Rug or the Fun Rugs Fun Time Noah’s Ark Rug for a touch of silly? Add a contemporary style bookcase; he may not need it right away, but it will be a handy place for you to put the books you will read to him.

A farm animal themed boy’s nursery is a fun way to decorate your baby’s first room. It’s a great theme for a baby boy nursery because it involves animals, bringing a variety of shapes into the room. For this type of theme, you can pick from any number of furniture styles from Southwestern to Mission to rustic. Today, we’ll design our farm animal themed nursery by selecting a country style décor with a little touch of sophistication.

Color choices (from Benjamin Moore) were chosen with the crib bedding in mind. A popular country style palette includes earth tones (Providence Olive and Shakespeare Tan) as well as the two blues (Misty Blue and Wedgewood Gray) that have more neutral undertones. This will help set the overall mood for the room, country style that is chic and trendy.
Once the walls have been painted, consider your options. You can add a wallpaper border that has a farm animal theme. You can even choose just one type of farm animal, such as cows, horses, roosters or sheep. If you’re creative and like to DIY, paint stencils of farm animals on one or two walls in brighter, accent colors that complement the crib bedding. If you’re really artistic, how about painting a barnyard mural on one wall or a section of one of the nursery walls?

The Status Furniture Milcroft Stages Convertible Baby Crib has a delightful country charm that will be a great place for your baby boy to sleep.

The BeBe Chic Counting Sheep Baby Crib Bedding Set Collection crib bedding set features whimsical sheep in a combination of solid colors and patterns that will give you farm animal themed nursery texture while creating visual interest.

The South Shore Furniture Sweet Morning 3246 Changing Table has a country style flavor, with its arched apron, classic round wood knobs and a warm wood finish. Especially if you’re on a budget, you might be tempted to skip the change table. But consider this: you will be changing your baby’s diaper anywhere from 10 to 15 times a day, from the time he comes home from the hospital for up one to two years afterwards. Because it eliminates crouching or bending yourself into awkward positions, a changing table is worth the investment, particularly if it can be repurposed as a dresser or storage unit.

A rug gives your nursery a finished look. The Walk On Me Kid’s Sheep Rug lends the room quirky feel. If you prefer something more neutral, select the Walk On Me Ivory Sheepskin Rectangle Rug.
